The hearing of the case filed by some state governments, Kaduna, Kogi, Zamfara and others at the supreme court against the naira redesign policy will resume today, Wednesday, February 22, at the Supreme Court.

The supreme court had last week ruled that:

“Plaintiff to file amended processes by Friday, Defendant to respond by Monday. Matter adjourned to Wednesday 22 February 2023 for hearing. The other individual matters will also be heard on Wednesday.

“Court hints that the motion to Consolidate should not be filed in all the individual applications. Rather, one application should be filed listing all the matters.”

After the supreme court adjournment last week, President Muhammadu Buhari in a broadcast the following day, who recognized that the matter is sub-judice, however, ordered that the old N200 notes be spend alongside the new N2000, N500 and N1000 notes.
