Breaking: Sorting, Counting Of Votes Begin In Nigeria

As election time move to an end across Nigeria, sorting and counting of votes have commenced.

Accreditation of voters according to the electoral act ends at 2.30 local time. Only voters on queue at the time would be opportuned to vote.

Most of the polling units where voting has been concluded at 2.30 local time, our correspondent reports that the sorting and counting are done immediately.

Voters apathy

When our correspondent visited Ward 5, polling unit 072, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, as at 3.00 local time, the polling officers in the presence of the party agents, are seeing destroying unused ballot papers.

Out of 750 expected voters, 170 voters were accredited for voting.

Same is the situation at Ward 5, Ijare in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, where out of 452 expected voters, about 170 voters were accredited for voting.

Similarly at Aquinas in Akure South Local Government Area, out of 750 expected voters, about 300 voters were accredited.
