A Nigerian man on Tuesday shared his experience at one of the commercial banks in Lagos.

According to the report shared by the BBC pidgin service, the man (name withheld) disclosed that he was given two packs of 2000 coins by the bank.

The development comes on the heels of naira scarcity occasioned by the redesigned naira notes.

The Central Bank has however blamed saboteurs for the current scarcity.

The supreme court has earlier told the CBN to extend the deadline for the old naira notes to cease, from February 10 to 15, a decision that has been ignored by the CBN.

The court is expected to hear the case on Wednesday, February 15.
