The Ondo State Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organization on Tuesday, 14th February, 2023 stormed Irele and Okitipupa Local Government Areas and left the camp of APC devastated as it lost many of its respected bigwigs among whom are Prof. Francis Igbasan, Pst Segun Ayerin and their followers to the fold of PDP.
Igbasan and Ayerin while bidding APC bye, joyously moved to PDP and promised to make their positive impact in this month’s general elections by ensuring PDP’s total victory from top to bottom.
While presenting the party’s candidates to the enthusiastic crowd, the State Chairman of PDP in Ondo State, Hon Fatai Adams said the Local governments are traditional stronghold for PDP, boasting that the party will be victorious in the February 25 and March 11 elections.
The State Chairman thereafter officially presented all the party candidates from its Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, His Excellency Hon Agboola Alfred Ajayi as the Ondo South Senatorial Candidate, Hon Ikengboju Gboluga as the House of Reps Candidate for Irele/Okitipupa Federal Constituency while Dagbatan Anjorin Peter was presented as the House of Assembly Candidate for Irele State Constituency. Dr. Jimoh Akinsola Saliu and Kolawole Tayo popularly called “Thunder” as Okitipupa State Constituency 1 & 2 respectively.
Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, South West Zonal Liaison Desk Officer for Atiku/Okowa urged the Ikales to prove to the world that Okitipupa is the headquarters of PDP by voting massively for the party. He further said that with the coming back of Prof. Igbasan, a renowned academician and Pst Ayerin who is regarded as a political bulldozer, the team is complete and the party is good to go.
Earlier, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Canpaign Organization’s Vice Chairman and the Director in Ondo State, Balogun Eyitayo Jegede SAN and Distinguished Senator Boluwaji Kunlere respectively, said the people must be ready to take their destinies in their hands by changing the unpleasant naratives of the moment created by a visionless APC which has reached its wit’s end in proferring solutions to the myriads of problems facing the country. They both enjoined the people to vote all the party’s candidates as presented by the party.
Other members of the Campaign Organization who graced the great occasion are Deputy-Directors in charge of Volunteer groups Rt Hon Bakkita Bello, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei Media&Publicity, Mrs Omowumi Owolabi Finance as well as some notable leaders such as Hon Saka Lawal, Chief Oyedele Ibine and members of the State Executive Committee of the party, Basorun Tola Alabere, Asiwaju Oluseye Olujimi and Boluwaji Bamidele.
