A former Head of Mass Communication Department, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Dr. Raman Abubakri, has emerged as the new Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies.
Abubakri in a statement on Saturday, appreciated his ardent supporters who threw their weights behind his emergence and also pledged to work for further development of the faculty.
The terse statement read, “the deanship election of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies held yesterday 10th of February, 2023. It was a landslide victory as the result was 42 against 16 in my favour.
“On the strength of this, I wish to thank all my supporters and promoters across the Polytechnic for the love shown to me and the confidence reposed in me. I pledge to work for further development of the faculty and ensure improvement of the faculty’s staff welfare within my capacity by God’s grace.
“I call on my opponent to synergize with me as we can work together towards adding value to the faculty in particular and the institution in general.May we all live long in sound health and comfort. Amen.
