A former Legislative Aide to Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Apalowo Thalis has declared interest to run for the position of Chairman in Akoko North West Local Government area on Sunday.
In his declaration speech, Apalowo promised to run an all-inclusive government to ensure the local government works for the people.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION
AKOKO NORTH WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA ON THE PATH TO PROSPERITY; A JOINT TASK.
After wide consultation with stakeholders of our party, the All Progressives Congress, and the good people of Akoko North West Local Government area, I officially declare my intention to contest for position of Executive Chairman of the council.
I believe at this point in our history, only people who understand where the local government area is coming from and what it needs to be functional should be allowed to manage its affairs.
The local government is the closest government to the grassroots, and for our people to feel the influence of government at all levels, the local government must be functional and responsive.
The task to get Akoko North West Local Government working again is a joint task – we all have a role to play. Hence, I pledge to be a chairman to all tendencies in the local government area. No community or group of people will be denied access to developmental programs and projects.
Together, we will make Akoko North West Local Government area work for the benefit of all, again.
