… she appeals to governments, individuals and organisations for jobs

The dream of Mrs Aderonke Bukola Oniye was to be a celebrated Professor in Finance, but this future Professor is now a petty trader in one of the markets in Ekiti state, southwest, Nigeria.

She did not set out to be a petty trader when she was young, but life uncertainty and the ugly reality of unemployment in Nigeria has turned the first class degree holder to a Petty trader.

She’s one of the many graduates in Nigeria who come out with very good degrees, only to settle for any job because of the high unemployment in the country.

She received First Class in Banking and Finance from Wesley University, Ondo and bagged a Distinction in Banking and Finance from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State.

As if that was not enough, Mrs Oniye has a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration, but today, she resorted to petty trading after many failed attempts to secure a white collar job to realise her Professorial dream.

Overwhelmed by depression, the woman is struggling to come to terms with the reality of her present phase of her life and there is no hope in sight as to when her dream will come to a reality.

She is now appealing to governments at all levels, public-spirited individuals and organisations to help her in securing employment in order to actualize her dreams.

“I’m just doing all these to keep body and soul together since I have not gotten a white collar job.

“I’m appealing to well-meaning Nigerians, government and non-parastatals and business owners to please help me. They should please employ me. I pledge to be efficient and diligent in any place I am employed.

“My dream is to be a Professor in Finance. My lecturers used to tell me then that I’m a Professor because I’m unemployed. That’s why I’m not able to go far. I’m thinking of starting my M.Sc and I need support. I’m begging well-meaning Nigerians to come to my aid so that I can achieve my goals in life”, she said.
