The Executive Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan has described the election of Rt Hon Olamide Adesanmi Oladiji from Ondo East State Constituency as the new Speaker Ondo State House of Assembly as fitting and proper.

The Chairman who gave the commendation in a Press Release through Bolu Ajijo, the Director Press & Publicity, Ondo SUBEB, equally congratulated The Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Babatunde Akinruntan from Ilaje State Constituency -1 and other Principal Officers for their victory.

The SUBEB boss who was a former Speaker of Ondo Assembly commended the members of the 10th Assembly, the Governor of the State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, the State Chairman of All Progressives Party, APC Engr Ade Adetimehin and leaders of the ruling party in the State for the peaceful conduct of the election and transition of power from the 9th to the 10th Assembly that took place in the hallowed chamber early today.

He said the peaceful conduct of the election of the Principal Officers of the 10th Assembly was contrary to people’s expectations.

According to Olabimtan many soothsayers and political pundits especially haters of the current political dispensation in the State as well as in the Country expected the roof of the hallowed chamber to cave as a result of agitations for powers and the juicy positions amongst the Legislators elect who’s peaceful conduct today when it matters most shows that politicians in Ondo State have come of age.

While assuring the new Speaker, the Principal Officers as well as Hon members of the 10th Ondo State Assembly that the Board will continue to cooperate and partner the House in the performance of its oversight constitutional functions Rt Hon Olabimtan also seek the support of the Assembly in helping the Board achieve it’s set goals beyond the set target.

Before his forage in politics Rt Hon Olamide Adessnmi Oladiji, popularly called Landmark, a graduate of Accounting from Federal Polytechnic Ado -Ekiti, was an accomplished business man.He is the proprietor of Dynamic Landmark Group of Schools and Landmark Polytechnic, Ayobo, Ogun State.

Rt Hon Oladiji was the Deputy Majority Leader of the defunct 9th Ondo State House of Assembly that wound up yesterday.

The Chairman is very hopeful that the new Speaker will bring to bear his many years of managerial acumen and maturity to steer the affairs of the 10th Assembly to a great success.
