All traditional rulers in Ondo East Local Government Area of the State have congratulated the Speaker,Ondo State House of Assembly,Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji on his new position, saying his election is a right step in a right direction .
Leading other traditional rulers and council of Chiefs on a courtesy visit to his office, the Iyangede of Epe land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyebade Akinkuade , expressed delight on the new position, disclosing that it is the first time in the history of Ondo East to have their son being the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
While describing Hon. Oladiji as a kind – hearted man who has the fear of God , the royal father expressed optimism that Ondo East would soon witness more development in the areas of infrastructure, health and education.
Oba Akinkuade who appreciated the Governor of Ondo State,Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu SAN CON for his love for democracy and rule of law, prayed to God to grant him mercy and speedy recovery.
Earlier, the Oloja Mobire- Town, Oloja Felix Kolawole , the Olu of Obundo , Olu Ogunmoyero Philips and Iyaloja/ Iyalaje General of Ondo East,Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Ajayi, said having a Speaker from Ondo East is a clear testimony of good things to come to the area.
They however,described Oladiji as a grassroot politician who happened to be the first person to introduce All Progressives Congress Party (APC)to Ondo East.
Responding, the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly,Rt.Hon. Olamide Oladiji, appreciated God for the opportunity and also
thanked the Governor of the State for his love, trust and support.
Assuring the traditional rulers that he would continue to make them proud at all times, the Speaker urged them not to relent in their effort at
maintaining the existing peace in their areas as this would enable them to witness more developmental projects.
He later asked them to always pray for Mr. Governor whom he described as an achiever that has brought smiles to the faces of individuals through his various landmark achievements in the State.
