Nigeria’s Internet Citizens also known as Netizens on Thursday called out the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, after his name was announced as a minister designate.
In trolling the former Governor, netizens shared an old video of him where he said he can’t work with the APC, as doing so would mean he left Malaria (his current party – the PDP), for Cancer – the APC.
Wike was among the 28 names Mr Bola Tinubu sent to the Senate for screening on Thursday.
It is not clear if Wike would accept to work with the APC.
Wike openly worked for Mr Tinubu to emerge as President, after he queried his party’s choice of presidential candidate in the last general election where Atiku Abubakar was fielded as PDP presidential candidate.
The argument of the former Rivers State Governor was that a northerner (Atiku) cannot succeed another northerner (Buhari), after the latter had spent 8 years in a country that is divided along north and south.
Wike alongside other 4 Governors of the PDP tagged G5 worked for the APC candidate, Tinubu in the last presidential election held in February, 2023.
