A kidnap suspect arrested by the Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun says he is into criminal activities because he believes he was destined to do so.
The suspect, Musa Abdullahi was arrested with a gang of Nine kidnappers in Akoko area of the State, when they were on the verge of obtaining ransom payment for a kidnapped victim.
Speaking on the arrest of the suspect and 30 others, the Commander of Ondo Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the Corps arrested them across the Local Government Areas in the State within one week.
Akogun, who disclosed this on Monday while parading the suspects, warned criminals who have turned the State forest reserves into their homes to desist or risk being arrested.
The 31 suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from burglary; kidnapping; illegal possession of firearms to stealing of roofing sheets, conductor wire, iron rods, electrical and stealing and reselling off motorcycles.
In another development, the Amalgamated Union of Food Stuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) says they are in the State to express their profound support for Amotekun corps.
President of the Union, Mohammed Tahir who led other members to the office of the Corps in Akure, reiterated their commitment to the peace and security of the State.
“I wish to reiterate that, if there is anyone who claims to be a member of our union and he is involved in any form of criminal act, such person or persons should be dealt with in accordance with the law as our union abhors criminality,” he said.
