The League of Concerned Ondo Progressives Youths on Thursday expressed solidarity with the new Ondo State Commissioner on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Kolade Victor Akinjo.

The group in a statement signed by High Chief Olusegun Suleola and made available to newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital, described the nomination of Hon. Akinjo, a former house of representatives member by President Bola Tinubu, as strategic to the development of the State.

Chief Suleola urged those who are against the appointment of Hon. Akinbo to shun politics of bitterness and embrace his choice for an optimal performance on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

According to him, Akinjo’s appointment in the Commission certainly puts a round peg in a round hole.

“It is no longer news that every move made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rescue the good people of Ondo State from the doldrums of political rascality has always being treated with disdain. Irrespective of the fact that Tinubu, going by his astute records of putting round pegs in round holes without minding their political affiliations right from his days as Lagos Governor, this seems to have been the fate of Mr President in the Sunshine State even before he became the President of Nigeria.

“His choice of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo was once shot with several criticisms until it became crystal clear to these retrogressive people that Mr President was neither ready to give in to their noice nor derail from his move to deliver on his mandate of running an all-inclusive governance to benefit the lots of every Nigerian irrespective of their religious/political affiliations.

“For goodness sake, Hon. Victor Kolade Akinjo is not just an illustrious son of Ilaje nation, but a leader whose impact, influence, largesse, simplicity, capacity to deliver and acceptability cut across political parties, whether in Ondo State or beyond. These and many more must have been responsible for his appointment by the President. On this note, we want to state categorically that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the prerogative right to appoint any qualified, able and capable Nigerian to any Office and Mr President couldn’t have made a better decision than appointing Hon. Akinjo,” the group said.
