Without an infinitesimal of doubt, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has taken an audacious step by transmiting power to his somewhat taciturn and vibrant Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, a step that has been well applauded by keen political watchers and apparently downplayed by the Flotsam and Jetsam that have emplaced themselves into the helms of affairs.
The emergence of Aiyedatiwa as an Acting Governor was greeted by sheer propangada, destructive criticisms, and smear campaign which was linked to his marriage, deliberately to paint him horrible before those who believed in his impeccable leadership.
Sponsored media attacks was not left behind by these ironically ‘loyal’ big guns who simple perceived ‘Orimisan’ to be fast becoming fortunate and may eventually take the stage. Truthfully, only God knows who will finish the journey, but Aketi will finish race successfully because he has been divinely ordained to finish well and to even install his successor for continuity, so why the erroneously held perception?
Despite the seeming loyalty Aiyedatiwa paid in the absence of his boss, they crucified him like sinless Jesus, they spat lies, crowned him the Chief Betrayal of the Universe, just because of their own interest. Governor Akeredolu, an altruistic man, nevertheless acted selflessly but the Lieutenants exhibiting feigned loyalty didn’t take a cue from Aketi.
Our Talk and Do Governor Akeredolu who picked Aiyedatiwa after the Agboola Ajayi’s cacophonous hassle, didn’t goofed, owing to the unassailable fact that the Governor doesn’t want a repetition of those scenes that shook the entire State.
Meanwhile, as a core Omoluabi, Lucky who is not hapless remained unperturbed with the dark moment because his unwavering loyalty is conspicuously noticeable to the political class who understands the undertone and the scheming.
To the surprise of all and sundry, there is no lacuna in governance as Ayedatiwa is seriously giving full attention to state functions and other official activities. it is as smooth as when Osinbajo transiently held sway as the Acting President while the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari was away.
Aiyedatiwa has proven to be honest and loyal despite a swelling tide of criticism. As Acting Governor, the Sunshine State is at peace. The State has not been in the news for negative reasons. During this brief stint, the controversies surrounding the Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) was stemmed with amicable resolutions. He did well by encouraging Omoyeni Joy who performed well in last WASSCE. Even the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is at peace with huge activities going on in the party. The aforementioned, of course is a tour de force for Aiyedatiwa.
