The Good Governance Movement has begun painstaking fact-findings and mediating missions geared towards lasting solution to the impasse currently rocking Ondo State.

Hon. Deji Adebayo, Director of Media & Publicity of the group in a statement on Thursday appreciated the leaders of APC under the leadership of His Excellency, Abdullahi Ganduje in his determination to broker peace among the warring parties.

“Our Movement in an exhaustive virtual meeting which lasted for 2hours, 55minutes with about 80 members in attendance noted with dismay, the many challenges posed by the current impeachment saga on Ondo State and her citizens.

*It was strongly expressed by all members that peace does not generally mean absence of conflict but presence of justice, mutual respect and understanding.

“We therefore called on all warring parties to allow peace to reign by respecting all subsisting judicial orders. And halt the impeachment process. All Government functionaries should rather concentrate on duties that will benefit the populace for the sake of peace.

“The movement also see the seed of discord as expressed in the chopping list of prospective Deputy Governor replacements as DIVISIVE and REPRESSIVE on the people of Southern Senatorial Zone of Ondo State, and should be frowned at, by all.

“Finally, the group pledged to intensify efforts at resolving the ongoing impasse and on regular basis avail the good people of Ondo State with findings and results of the peace mission.

“Members asked repeatedly for the presence of His Excellency, Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN), in Ondo State even as we wish him quick recovery.

“The movement pray God’s speed for our President, His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet in the efforts at restoring peace and prosperity to our nation.
