Old Student Pays Back To Alma Mater, Islamic High School Ibadan

It was a moment of celebration and giving back to ones alma mater, as one of the old students of Islamic High School, Orita-Basorun, Ibadan, Engr. Dayo Akinyemi of 1989 set, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 commissioned some projects to mark his 50th birthday anniversary.

The projects were commissioned by the representative of the Hon. Commissioner for Education, L.I.E., Lukman Okesade.

The projects are:

  • 60 pairs of Students Funrniture ,10 Teachers’ Tables, 30 Teachers’ Chairs, 5 Brand New Laptops, 10 Big Black Drums, 4 Dozens of Kettles, and Repairs and installation of new accessories for 15 Computers.
    Two (2) newly Renovated Classrooms and One(1) Staff Room were also commissioned. The cost of the projects were about N6 million Naira only.

The celebrant further promised the provision of school uniform, bags, and shoes for 25 promising students, as well as yearly scholarship awards to overall best students in each class.


He offered to provide credible mentoring links for science students to be able to complete with their counterparts through out the World.


List of dignitaries at the event included the National President of the Old Students Association: Mr Lekan Popoola, Immediate Past National President: Professor Ishaq Omotosho, the National Secretary: Mr Lateef Lawal, School Governing Board Chairman: Dr Ismaila Razaq, School Principal: Mr Fasasi Abdullah and other members of the 1989 set.

The event took place at the School Premises.
