As the installation of the Chairman of Erudite Group, Saheed Oladele as the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba (Senator) Lekan Balogun reaches top gear, foremost Nigerian Universities have indicated interest in honoring him with an oratory contest.
The first edition of the contest slated for the 9th December 2023 at the Trenchard Hall of the University of Ibadan, will see students of Seven Nigerian universities on a war of jaws.
Apart from Covenant, UI and OAU, other universities that will grace the occasion include University of Ilorin, LAUTECH, FUTA and LASU.
Titled “Nigeria’s educational system and the dilemma of meeting 21st Century global standards” the much anticipated contest is expected to provide a compelling narrative on the state of Nigerian educational system in a world of disruptive innovation and fast-paced information.
Speaking on the choice of Saheed Oladele as the first Baameko of Ibadan land, the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale noted that the University of Ibadan, Oladele’s Alma mater is solidly behind him. He prayed to God to continue to strengthen the Erudite Group Chair.
In a letter signed on behalf of committee of friends, Comrade Maroof Asudemade and Mrs Oluwatoyin Okediran-Adeyemi, expressed their heartfelt felicitations to Oladele, saying that as the visionary leader of Erudite Millennium Ltd, he has consistently brought pride to Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria through commendable initiatives in the realm of education.
