AAUA Management Reacts To Alleged Murder Of 300 Level Student

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) management has reacted to the gruesome murder of a 300 level student of the institution, Ifeoluwa Adekunle.

Adekunle, an Economics student of AAUA was found dead in her pool of blood in her room outside the school campus on Saturday.

Spokesperson of the University, Victor Akinpelumi in terse message to respond to Precision Online Newspaper’s inquiry about the incident, disclosed that the management is already aware of the unfortunate incident.

“It has been reported to the police, who are currently investigating what could have led to the death of the young lady.

“The management also sympathizes with the friends, family, and relations of the young lady,” Akinpelumi said.

Meanwhile, preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the Ifeoluwa was attacked by yet-to-identified assailant(s) and left in her pool of blood after sniffing life out of her

The incident was said to have created tension and apprehension among students, particularly female students.

She was said to have been stabbed severally to death by her attacker(s).

A source, who subscribed to anonymity,
said: “We found her in the pool of her blood in her room. She was stabbed to death by yet-to-be-identified persons who came visiting. We know this is not a cult-related issue as some people are propagating.

“We have reported the murder case to the police but seems they are slow in responding to our demands in identifying and tracking those behind this dastardly act.

“We are imploring the Ondo State Government to please look into the matter and ensure that the deceased gets justice.”

Superintendent of Police (SP), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident on Sunday, adding that investigation into the incident has begun.

She noted that the suspicion that the incident could be cult-related could not be ruled out, the police spokesperson disclosed that the remains of Ifeoluwa had be kept in the morgue.

Mrs. Odunlami-Omisanya said: “She was killed but her corpse had been moved to the hospital’s morgue and we have begun our investigation on the case.

“We are not sure if it’s a cult-related activity because she was murdered in her room situated off the campus, but our investigation is going to unravel the cause.”
