Ondo Deputy Governor Designate, Olayide Adelami To Be Sworn-in Today

The new deputy Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olayide Adelami will be sworn-in today, Thursday, February 1.

Precision Online Newspaper gathered that the swearing-in ceremony is billed for the International event and cultural centre (The Dome) by 10am.

Adelami, a former deputy clerk at the national assembly was nominated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa last week and had since been confirmed by the House of Assembly.

The Owo-born administrator turned politician is to be sworn-in as a deputy governor following the passage of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu, a sitting Governor died in December after prolong battle with prostrate cancer.

His death paved way for Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s deputy to become Governor in line with constitutional provision.

Adelami, thus become the deputy of Aiyedatiwa after the position became vacant.

Until his nomination as deputy, Adelami was a council member of Achievers University, Owo.

He is also the co-founder of Elizabeth Foundation, which is notable for the empowerment of women, especially widows in Owo and its environs.

Adelami was one of the aspirants who contested against Akeredolu in the 2020 APC primary election.
