The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ondo State Chapter has confirmed the death of its Chairman, Fatai Adams.
Kennedy Ikantu Peretei, State Publicity Secretary of the PDP in a statement made available to Precision Online Newspaper, expressed shock and devastation over the demise of Mr Adams.
Mr Adams died on Wednesday morning at a private hospital in Akure after a brief illness.
“His transition at this trying time of the party is not only sad but traumatic. The State Working Committee (SWC) of the party has declared a three-day mourning period. Party flags are to fly at half mast and all party Secretariats shut for the period across the state.
“Hon. Fatai Adams was a Member of the Ondo State House of Assembly (2007-2011). He was elected State Chairman in August 2020. He also served as Deputy State Chairman of the PDP in Ondo State.
“Our party commiserates with his family and the Ondo State PDP at large. May Almighty Allah grant him Al jannah Firdaus,” the statement read.
Though, he was recently suspended by the party’s state executive members, Mr Adams was reinstated by the national executive members of the PDP before his passage on Wednesday.
