Lawyer and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has called on President Bola Tinubu to move Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to the power ministry.

Adeyanju who gave the advise in a terse message on his Facebook profile on Friday evening also suggested the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike be moved to the power ministry.

The legal practitioner has consistently decried the poor state of power supply in the country in recent times.

He observed that the power sector under the current power minister, Adebayo Adelabu has been bedeviled with a lot of challenges, querying why the minister has not been sacked.

Adeyanju who had in the past praised Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister for his transformation works at the ministry, urged Tinubu to move him to power as he believed he would deliver.

Nigeria’s power sector over the years has been challenged with low power generation with the national grid getting shut almost everyday.

Successive administrations in Nigeria have spent over 100 billion dollars on the power sector, with little or no result to show.

Due to the challenge of power in Nigeria and the high cost of generating power through alternative means, most multinational companies and small business owners have stopped production or relocate from the country.
