Dr Taiwo Samuel Adenegan, a Professor at Achievers University, Owo has emerged the new Ondo State Chairman of Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON).
Prof. Adenegan emerged today Monday, April 29, 2024 at an event held at the Ministry of Education, Akure.
The event was attended by Director of Guidance and Counselling of the Ondo State Ministry of Education and all Zonal Chairpersons from the Zones in the State.
His predecessor, Dr. Babajide Oyadeyi from the National Open University, who handed over the mantle of power to Prof. Adenegan, promised to support him to lift the association higher.
In his acceptance speech, the new CASSON Chairman harped on the need to ensure that every individual has access to quality mental health support.
“I stand before you today with a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility as I accept the honor of serving as the new Ondo State Chairman of our esteemed Association, Ondo State CASSON,” he said.

One of my priorities as Chairman will be to empower counsellors through training programmes, professional development opportunities, and mentorship initiatives. By investing in our counsellors’ growth and well-being, we can ensure they are equipped to provide effective support to those in need.
In conclusion, I am excited about the journey ahead and confident that together we can make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in Ondo State through counselling. Thank you once again for entrusting me with this responsibility.
