The Minister speaking at an Interagency Seminar for Participants of Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Course 8/2024 at the College in Asokoro, Abuja stated that the approach would go a long way in ensuring effective protection of the citizens against both internal and external attacks.

Tunji-Ojo who was a discussant alongside various stakeholders in the security system in the country stated that such development would enable each agency to offer its own unique areas of expertise, intelligence, and resources.

This, the Minister said would facilitate working together as the agencies can be more effective in counterterrorism and homeland security efforts than they would be on their own.

In his words, “a single agency may face difficulties addressing such threats alone. This is why interagency collaboration at all levels is critical to addressing national security threats. Joint efforts among agencies often include collecting and analyzing intelligence”.

“I am of the belief and hope that with the avowed commitment of President Bola Tinubu and the determination of each and everyone of us, all what we face today shall soon become a thing of the past as all of us have a role to play”.

“The Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies should work together to share intelligence and investigate potential threats to prevent terrorist attacks,” Tunji-Ojo added.

Other discussants at the seminar included the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu represented by Major-General P.P Malla; Chief of Defence Operations, Major-General Emeka Onumajuru; Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Army, Hon. Mamudu Abdullah; Director-General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman; and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, represented by Deputy IG Frank Uba,

It focused on key security challenges facing the nation and actionable solutions to combat the multi-dimensional threats.
