Few days to the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Ondo state, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was on Tuesday given a rousing welcome in Owo, Ose and Oka Akoko.
The Governor had visited the towns to solicit for votes from APC members ahead of Saturday direct primary election.
While in Owo, Aiyedatiwa passionately appealed to other contestants to shun campaign of calumny and maintain peaceful conduct.
The Governor stated this while speaking with journalists after visiting the ancient palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, Ogunoye III, as part of his tour to local governments ahead of the APC primaries.
The Governor who had already toured 15 out of 18 local government area of the state called on other APC contestants to show the spirit of sportsmanship and support whoever emerged from the primaries on Saturday.
He said his ambition to continue beyond 2025 was to bring about rapid development, continuity and purposeful leadership for everyone in the state.
Speaking with party supporters at the Methodist primary school Fajuyi park, Owo, where some PDP members decamped to APC, the governor urged them to come out in large number on Saturday to support him.
The governor further cleared the insinuation that he abandoned ongoing projects in Owo the home town of the former governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, stressing that he had instructed all contractors back to site.
Earlier, at the palace of Olubaka of Oka in Akoko south west local government, where he met with monarchs led by the Olubaka, Oba Yusuf Adebori-Adeleye, governor Aiyedatiwa promised to revisit all tourist sites scattered across the state to boost the economy.
The governor also met with party members in Ifon and some monarchs in Ose local government at their secretariat where he solicited for their support.
Long list of party loyalist and dignitaries who accompanied the governor on his sixth day of campaign are deputy governor, Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker, Ondo state house of assembly Mr Olamide Oladiji; Majority leader of the house, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi and deputy chairman APC elders caucus, Chief Jamiu Ekungba among others.
