The living condition of Nigerians were not this worse during the era of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Dr Eddy Olafeso, former member of the national working committee of the PDP stated this in Akure on Wednesday during a one day seminar for media aides of governorship aspirants of the party ahead of the November, 2024 election in the State.

Olafeso, who noted that the PDP’s 16 year rule, between 1999 and 2015 was challenging, however said the level of poverty witnessed in the last 9 years under the All Progressives Congress (APC) is alarming.

According to him, education which is a basic responsibility of government to people, as witnessed during the Awolowo era, is no longer affordable to the masses.

He said if not for the opportunity most Nigerians had during the Awolowo’s era of free education, majority of the people in southwest won’t be educated.

He challenged the people of Ondo State to vote to return the PDP to the government house in November, since the APC can no longer salvage the situation.

On his advice to the media aides, Dr Olafeso enjoined them to channel their energies to unite the members of the party.

He decried the act of abusing aspirants other than their boss on social media, adding that such behaviour will tarnish the party’s image and reduce its chances of winning.

The PDP chieftain who noted that the one day seminar will set the tone for future conversations, affirmed that he won’t quit the PDP for other party.
