The Ondo State Council for Islamic affairs has urged the people of Ondo State to exercise restraint and shun the #ENDBADGOVERNANCE protest organized by faceless and unknown elements “who by all indications do not mean well for this nation and it’s people”.
Alhaji Waidi Ademola Fadola, State Chairman, Ondo State Council for Islamic Affairs in statement described the protest as one that is aimed to bring insurrection and anarchy to our land.
The statement further read:
The Ondo State council for Islamic Affairs believes that all genuine avenue of engaging the government have not been exhausted by these individuals.
Rather they want to use the back door to sack a legitimate government and establish themselves. Progressive Ondo State residents should not join this bad wagon.
Yes things have not been well placed these days in our dear country, cost of living have gone beyond the reach of average Nigerians because of government policies, but two wrongs can not make a right. We must not join these faceless individuals to create evil in our Nation.
Speaking up for justice is a fundamental principle of Islam according to the Prophet of Islam (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon his noble soul) who said, “When you see evil, change it with your hand, if you cannot, then with your speech, if you cannot, then with your heart and this is the weakest of faith”.
Based on this narrative the best we could do to aid the government change these policies that have caused a great hardship to the citizens is to engage the government constructively on how to ameliorate the suffering Nigerians are experiencing.
The planned protest will bring more havoc and distress to Nigerians. It is better we endure the present situation rather than bring more hardship and destruction to the people we deceptively claims we want to salvage.
The last protest in the guise of #EndSars left behind it, destruction of lives and properties. Islam places high premium on human life and properties, we must not allow any assemblage that will orchestrate destruction under any guise to happen.
The organizers of this #ENDBADGOVERNANCE do not mean well but violence, anarchy and destruction, we must not join them in the destruction of our common heritage.
A case study of Sudan, Libya and recently Kenya are examples of prosperous nation that became wreckages as a result of insurrection orchestrated by senseless and wicked protest. These countries were peaceful and pride of Africa until mob took over and destroys everything. The value of peace is not reckoned with until the peace is being disturbed or lost.
We should be wise, engage the government constructively and do away with protest that is sure to lead to destruction and insurrection.
We should also exercise patience and restraint and pray to Almighty Allah for a perfect guidance for our leaders. May Allah bless our country, guide our leaders and salvage us from destruction.
