The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu has hailed the courage, resilience and diligence of the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
While having in audience the Commandant of the Ondo NSCDC, Oluyemi Ibiloye, Akinlosotu said the security of the State is one of the major cardinal policy thrusts of the Aiyedatiwa administration and the mandate of the Ministry of Information and Orientation is to propagate free flow of information and also drive the policy by ensuring the protection of lives and property of Ondo State people.
Timilehin Ogunsulire, Ministry of Information and Orientation in a press release on Wednesday quoted the Commissioner, Mr Akinlosotu describing the birth of the Amotekun Corps in the state as timely, stressing that the move has made the state to be adjudged the most peaceful state in the country.
He further commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for procuring and distributing 25 high-grade Toyota Hilux vehicles to security agencies to boost enforcement in the state.
Responding, Ondo State Commmandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Oluyemi Ibiloye, said his official visit to the Ministry of Information and Orientation is as part of efforts to solidify the cordial relationship between the two parties.
Mr Ibiloye remarked that Ondo State is peaceful since he assumed office as the 20th NSCDC Commandant in the state.
Pledging the continued support of the Civil Defence towards the security of the state he said “we are partners in progress and stakeholders when it pertains to people. We both working to ensure that the people ’ lives are safe. We will continue to protect the lives and properties of the people. We will ensure that security wise, people of Ondo State will attest that their stay was worthwhile security wise”.
Mr Ibiloye further noted that the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre(NSSRCC)is an initiative programme to address the serious challenges of schools attacks and its consequences that have thrown a large number of children out of school in Nigeria.
He employed the state ministry of Information to help them propagate the agency plans and programmes to the public in ensuring free flow information.
