The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo approval to run full time mode for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and B.SLT. Speech Language Therapy programmes.
This was contained in a statement by Isaac Oluyi, Public Relations Officer of UNIMED on Monday.
“These programmes shall commence with effect from 2024/2025 academic session, which begins on the 6th October, 2024,” the statement added.
In a letter conveying the approval, with reference number NUC/AP/S33/VOL I/40 and signed by Abubakar M. Girei, Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the Commission enjoined the University “to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the programme”.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, in his reaction to the NUC approval, thanked the Commission for their prompt action after the resource verification visit and assured her of UNIMED’s unwavering commitment to making the programmes a huge success.
“I thank NUC for the confidence reposed in UNIMED, particularly with the dispatch with which the approval was given and I assure the Commission of our commitment to making the programmes an envy of all”.
