Press Week: Ondo NUJ Inaugurates 2024 Committee

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council on Wednesday inaugurated a seven-member special committee that would organize the Union’s 2024 press week events.

The NUJ Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, who inaugurated the committee at the Press Centre, Alagbaka-Akure on, charged members to discharge their duties diligently to ensure a befitting Press Week celebration.

His words: “You have to note that you were picked on merit and experiences.

“We are counting on the experiences of members of the committee and we are optimistic that you will not disappoint the union and the entire members. You should also remember that the union belongs to all of us and we must do everything to protect it”, he stressed.

On a specific note, Adegbite promised that the 2024 press week celebration would be a reference point in many years to come, charging the committee members and all journalists in the state to support the committee to achieve set goals.

Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Mrs Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi, promised to harness available potentials and leverage on the experience of members to ensure the success of the weeklong events.

“We the committee members see this as a call to service and with God on our side, we won’t fail the union and we also count on your support”.

Meanwhile, members of the seven-man committee include Omosileola Adesoye-Ajayi (Committee Chairman); David Fidelis (Committee Secretary); Ngozi Aduloju (member) Kehinde Adewumi (member), Oluwatosin Ighoteguono (member); Bada Jubril (member) and Olaoluwa Meshack (NUJ State Secretary).
