The Ondo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun Corps has paraded 20 suspected criminals over their involvement in various criminal activities, including a family, husband, wife and their 3 under aged children who engaged in breaking of houses and stealing.
The commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye while parading the suspects at the Corps headquarter in Akure said over 68 criminals were arrested in the last one week in Ondo State but 20 were being paraded.
The commander said ” In the last one week, we arrested about 68 suspected criminals out of which we are parading only 20, we equally have three minors which belong to the family of husband, wife and children that specialized in breaking of houses and stealing, for obvious reasons, we are not going to parade this minors, they aged between 12 and 15.”
” On enforcement of law and order, we have 15 suspects, anti grazing and farmers herders clashes, we have one suspect, on kidnapping, we have one suspect but confirmed suspect, he confirmed collecting two million naira from the victim.”
” On cultism, we have three suspects that we have arrested with charms, arms and ammunitions.
Akogun Adeleye confirmed that the Amotekun rangers have penetrated the forest and were able to resist kidnapping attacks and were able to rescue nine kidnapped victims.
” The notorious portion of Elegbeka had been bombarded and we are glad to say that the Amotekun rangers had in filtrated the entire forest around Elegbeka to guarantee the safety of commuters, lives and properties of the people of the area,” he noted.
The commander added that ” on the average, I want to say that the security situation of Ondo State is good.”
He however warned Ondo state residents to desist from buying second hand products without collecting verifiable receipts from the seller.
