Hon. Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi, the Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the Deputy Governor, Hon. Olayide Adelami, on their historical victory in the 2024 gubernatorial election, held on November 16.
He described the Governor’s triumph, winning in all 18 Local Government Areas of the state, clearly reflects his leadership, the trust of the people, and the unity of purpose that Ondo State now enjoys.
Hon. Ogunmolasuyi, who represents the good people of Owo State Constituency 1, expressed profound joy and pride in the democratic process that led to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory and the people’s overwhelming support for his running mate, Hon. Olayide Adelami. He noted that this monumental win is not just a victory for the Governor and his Deputy, but for every citizen of Ondo State, regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, or creed.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s decisive victory, alongside the election of Hon. Olayide Adelami as Deputy Governor, is a clear testament to the people’s unwavering confidence in their leadership. Winning all 18 Local Governments is a significant achievement, emphasizing the overwhelming support from the people across Ondo State. It is a reflection of their visionary leadership, steadfast commitment to the growth and development of the state, and tireless efforts to bring progress to every corner of Ondo State,” Hon. Ogunmolasuyi said in his congratulatory message.
He further emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in the election’s aftermath. With the election now behind us, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi called on all citizens, irrespective of political leanings, to rally behind the Governor and his Deputy, and work together to build a prosperous future for the state.
“As we move forward, it is crucial that we all set aside any differences and focus on the greater good of Ondo State. The elections are over, and now is the time for all of us to unite as one people with one purpose. Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor-elect Olayide Adelami have shown that their vision for Ondo State is inclusive, and it is incumbent upon all of us to support their efforts, irrespective of our political affiliations,” Ogunmolasuyi urged.
He continued: “Ondo State is greater than any political party, and the future of our state lies in our collective efforts to promote peace, unity, and development. Let us now work together to ensure that the promises made during the election campaign are fulfilled. Let us contribute our time, energy, and resources towards ensuring that Ondo State continues to grow, prosper, and remain a shining example of good governance in Nigeria.”
Hon. Ogunmolasuyi also used the occasion to commend the people of Ondo State for their peaceful conduct during the elections. He praised the resilience and commitment of the electorate, noting that the successful conduct of the election demonstrated the people’s maturity and readiness to build a united and prosperous state. “To the good people of Ondo State, I thank you for your resilience, participation, and unwavering faith in the democratic process. Your votes have spoken, and now it is time for us to work together to ensure that Ondo State continues progressing and thriving. Our diversity is our strength, and together, we will build a state that works for all of us. This election has added credibility to INEC that, with the necessary support, it can conduct a peaceful, free, and fair election that upholds democratic integrity. We must also thank President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to the democratic process,” he added.
As the Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Governor’s agenda for the state’s development, particularly in areas of education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic empowerment. He assured the people of Ondo State that the legislative arm would continue to work hand-in-hand with the executive, led by Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor-elect Olayide Adelami, to make Ondo State a model for governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
“As the legislative arm, we stand ready to support Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor-elect Adelami in their quest to elevate Ondo State to new heights. We will continue to work tirelessly with them to bring about policies that will benefit all our people. The development of our state will only be possible when we all work in synergy, with one voice and one vision.” The majority leader further expressed his gratitude to APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, all APC State Governor, Ondo State APC chairman Engr Ade Adetimehin, party elders, party leaders, party Stakeholders, party youths and good people of Ondo State for their doggedness till the end. Indeed, a united house can conquer everything they set their heart to!
Finally, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi called on all political stakeholders, traditional rulers, and civil society groups to continue to promote peace, unity, and development in Ondo State. “Let us put the past behind us and build a future of peace and prosperity for our children and grandchildren. Ondo State is one, and we must work together for the greater good of our people.”
