Over 700 journalists are attending the ongoing 8th triennial conference at Owerri, Imo state.
Precision Online. Newspaper reports that the occasion will also see a new president emerge, as the current president, Mr Chris Isiguzo bows out.
At the event currently holding at the international conference centre, Owerri, outgoing president, Mr Isiguzo appreciated his colleagues for giving him the privilege to rule for six years.
He thanked the Imo state governor, Mr Hope Uzodinma for creating the enabling environment to host the conference.
According to him, Imo state is peaceful, contrary to media reports.
No fewer than three candidates are contesting the leadership of the union. Mr Dele Atunbi, esq; Mr AlHassan Yahya and Mr Garba Mohammed.
