Mr Fasipe Opeyemi Isaac, a staff of the Department of Political Science, University of Ilesa (UNILESA), Osun State, has written an open letter of appreciation to Asiwaju Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State.
The letter, a copy of which was written to the Management of UNILESA and obtained by Precision Online Newspaper, show a high level of gratitude to the Governor, who ensured that the regularization of staff of the old College of Education, Ilesa, who were absorbed into the new UNILESA as temporary staff, are regularized as permanent staff.
The letter read:
Dear Governor and Esteemed University Management,
On behalf of the entire staff and especially those who were formerly on temporary contracts, I write this letter with deep gratitude and appreciation for the monumental decision to regularize the employment of temporary staff to permanent positions.
This commendable step is not only a testament to your commitment to fair employment practices but also a clear reflection of your dedication to uplifting the livelihoods and careers of numerous employees who have diligently served this institution. Your decision has brought immense relief and joy to many individuals who can now look forward to a stable and secure future, free from the uncertainties of temporary employment.
We recognize the significant efforts and considerations that went into making this transition possible, as well as the leadership and support of your administration in prioritizing the welfare of the staff. This act of compassion and responsibility reinforces our confidence in the direction you are leading our esteemed institution and our community.
Beyond the immediate impact on the lives of the regularized staff, this decision strengthens the university’s capacity to attract and retain committed, skilled employees. It paves the way for even greater productivity, as permanent staff are empowered to invest in their roles with the assurance of a sustainable career path within the institution.
