Achievers University, Owo, on Friday, January 31, 2025, presented, for matriculation, 1,133 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The event, held at the Prof. Adamu Abubakar Rasheed auditorium of the institution was attended by the students, their patents, and well-wishers.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony on Friday, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye, warned that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, examination malpractice, and cultism.
Prof. Irinoye cautioned that any student found culpable would face severe sanctions, urging them to uphold discipline and responsibility throughout their stay in the institution.
She stressed that Achievers University is not only committed to academic excellence but also to building students’ courage and confidence.
“The university strives to provide equal opportunities for leadership and professional growth,” she said.
Similarly, the institution’s Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Bode Ayorinde, implored parents to take their wards’ education seriously by ensuring prompt payment of tuition fees and instilling good morals in them.
Meanwhile, the guest speaker, Mrs. Yemisi Ayorinde Hunjenukon, an alumna of the university, charged the matriculating students to strive for excellence and make a meaningful impact.
Hunjenukon urged them to be exemplary in their conduct, stating that the world is waiting for their contributions. She also advised them to seek mentorship in their academic journey, stressing the need to define their vision and make the most of their time at Achievers University.
