Following an improvement in the security situation in Owo and the peaceful conduct of residents, Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the lifting of the curfew earlier imposed on the community.
Precision Online Newspaper reports that the curfew became necessary after cult clashes claimed several lives in the community last month.
Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor in a statement on Friday said residents of Owo can now resume their civic activities and movement without any hindrance.
“The Governor thanked security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all other stakeholders who rose to the challenge of restoring peace and order to the community,” the statement added.
