The Junior Chamber International (JCI), a leading youth organisation, has unveiled the official logo for its 2025 JCI Nigeria National Convention.

The national convention, tagged ‘Akure 2025’, is scheduled to take place in Akure, Ondo State, from October 8 to 12, 2025.

Speaking at the grand unveiling ceremony held at the Royal Birds Hotel and Towers in Akure over the weekend, the JCI Nigeria National President, Ambassador Oluwatoyin Atanda, described the event as a demonstration of the organisation’s collective commitment to delivering a memorable and impactful convention.

Atanda emphasised that the convention would go beyond a mere gathering, serving as a platform to celebrate leadership, impact, and progress. She noted that the event would provide opportunities for networking, launching initiatives, and fostering collaborations that would drive positive change in communities and across the nation.

She further explained that the Akure 2025 logo symbolises the values of unity, progress, excellence, and dynamism—principles JCI Akure has upheld over the years.

Expressing gratitude to the Akure chapter for accepting the responsibility of hosting the prestigious convention, Atanda commended the organisers for their dedication and assured that JCI would continue to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure a historic event.

In her keynote address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Tolu Adeyemi, lauded JCI Nigeria for its consistency and sustainability.

Represented by the Director of Youth in the ministry, Mrs. Folukemi Okupe, Adeyemi described JCI as one of Nigeria’s most composed and focused youth organisations. She stressed the importance of young people taking responsibility and acquiring skills to tackle global challenges, adding that the future of humanity depends on their efforts.

She assured the organisation of the state government’s support and willingness to partner with JCI in youth development initiatives.

“The government will continue to explore partnerships with the private sector and other development stakeholders to equip our youth with the necessary skills for sustainable job creation,”.

“We are committed to providing accessible, inclusive, and integrated youth empowerment programmes as a mechanism for nurturing young entrepreneurs who will drive economic growth.” Adeyemo stated.

As the government continues to channel investments into the economy and create opportunities for youth creativity, Adeyemi urged young people to remain focused and innovative.

She also called on JCI to take up greater responsibility in making a meaningful impact on society.

Earlier, the Local Organisation President, Bisiola Aluko, noted that the annual convention would bring together JCI Nigeria members and international participants, fostering leadership development and networking opportunities.

Aluko assured that Akure 2025 would be a memorable event, offering young, enterprising leaders a platform to learn, connect, and celebrate achievements together.

In his welcome address, the National Convention Director, Kunle Olajuyin, expressed excitement over the privilege given to JCI Akure to host the 2025 convention.

According to Olajuyin, the unveiling of the convention logo marks a significant step towards the highly anticipated event, adding that the logo represents the rich heritage and beauty of Akure.
