Adeyemi Varsity Matriculates 4,046

Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo has administered the matriculation oath on 4,046 (four thousand and forty six) newly admitted students in the institution for the 2024/2025 academic session.


In an address delivered on the occasion held on Thursday 24 April 2025 in the campus of the university, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Samuel Akintunde, described the ceremony as “another special day in the history of the university”.


The Acting university Administrator congratulated the matriculating students saying “you have been admitted into the foremost and best teacher training institution in Nigeria, hence you should recognize the full worth of the privilege of getting admission into this great citadel of learning. You should feel proud that you are about to begin the journey of joining the database of very important people who have graduated from this citadel of knowledge as you take the matriculation oath”.


Speaking on the matriculation oath, Prof. Akintunde said, “be informed that your matriculation oath is a legal bond between you and this university that you will be a good ambassador within and outside its campus”.


“You have just signed an agreement with the university to be under the rules and regulations guiding your studentship, please note that you are liable to receive appropriate sanctions for any act of yours found to be antithetical to the oath you have taken”. he remarked.


The Acting university Administrator also spoke on the need for the newly admitted students to complete the registration of their courses within the timeline meant for the exercise, stating that there “is no way you can have your results computed without registration”, saying participation in examination, would also not be possible without registration and “without result, there is no way your academic progress can be determined”.


Prof. Akintunde advised the matriculating students to restrain from engaging in social vices such as rape, drug abuse, cultism, assault, indecent dressing as well as gangsterism, stealing, willful damage to university properties and examination malpractices, saying “if you are caught, you will face the consequences of being expelled or suspended from the university.


The Acting University Administrator used the occasion to appreciate members of the University Admissions Committee as well as Staff of Division of Senate Matters and Admissions under the leadership of Mr. Oladele Olufemi Balogun for doing a good job.


In addition, he expressed appreciation to the Ondo State Coordinator of Joint Admissions Matriculation Board who came to the ceremony to represent the Registrar of the Agency, Prof. Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede.


The high point of the event which held at the Babatunde Ipaye lecture theatre in the university was the administrating of the matriculation oath on the students by the Registrar of the university, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorade.


Important personalities who attended the ceremony, which is the maiden edition since the transition of the institution from College of Education to University of Education include Principal Officers of the institution: the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Akintunde; His deputy, Prof. Abayomi Olufemi Olajuyigbe; Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede; Acting Bursar, Mrs. Taiwo Adedoyin and Acting Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Afolabi.


Also present were Deans of Faculties of Education, Arts Languages, Science as well a Vocational and Technical Education.
Other eminent personalities who graced the occasion were Directors, Heads of Departments and Units, Staff and Students as well as families and friends of the matriculating students.
