History was made on Monday when a new Police Secondary School was commissioned in the agrarian ancient town of Isua in Akoko south East local government area of Ondo State, making it the second of such college after the one at Itaogbolu.

With the establishment of this new school, Ondo State is the only State in the south western zone with sucu gesture.

In his speech at the official commissioning of the School, the Pioneer commandant of the school Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Udugbezi Michael said Police Schools are established and run by the Department of Police Education with the approval of the Inspector General of Police to cater for Police children, because of the nomadic nature of policing.

The new school can boast of good classrooms, well secured compound, hostels, hall and a medical centre.

He used the occasion to commend the singular efforts of a philanthropist and a native of Isua Akoko, Mr Kayode Ogidan for the donation of the entire school buildings.

Speaking, the donor Mr Ogidan said well to do individuals, corporate organizations must consider as a challenge the need to join hands with government in providing infrastructures and other needs forthe citizenry since government alone cant do it.

Ogidan frowned at nonchalant attitudes of the youths for their failure to embrace trades, farming and other menial jobs for survival rather they prefer roaming about looking for criminal ways of getting money. Ogidan commended the inspector General of Police for his approval while commendation was given to the Commissioner of Police, CP retired Ade Adewale for his involvement towards the approval of the School.

The Olubaka of Oka, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye commended the patriotic efforts of Mr Ogidan and the love he has for Isua and the entire Akokoland.

The monarch urged others to emulate him and join hands to bring development to Akokoland. Dignitaries at the commissioning included the Chairman Akoko South East local government, Mr Ade Adurogboye, the Olisua of Isua, Oba Adesunloye Oyolola, the Owa of Ogbagi Akoko, Oba Victor Adetona Olasehinde, the regent of Ifira, Princess Ade Olugboja, and a host of others.
