The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council has expressed satisfaction with the choice of Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Adeniyan is a former State Secretary and former National Officer of the union as well as the Publisher, Trace News Magazine.
In a Press Statement signed by the Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite and the State Secretary, Com. Olaoluwa Meshack, Ondo NUJ described the appointment as one of the best choices for the sensitive media Aide position.
“The appointment of Mr Adeniyan, who is also the publisher of Trace Magazine, is a round peg in a round hole, going by his experience in journalism and his zeal for the profession.
“We have no doubt in our mind that Mr. Adeniyan will coordinate and drive the information machinery of the government for better delivery and dissemination of genuine information to the public.”
NUJ which had earlier condoled Governor Aiyedatiwa and the people of Ondo State over the demise of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, tasked the new Governor to run an all-inclusive administration by ensuring a genuine reconciliation among political gladiators in the state.
The union, while setting the agenda for the new Governor, said he needs the supports and cooperation of others for a smooth running of his administration to ensure the development of the state and her people, urging him to give top priority to welfare of workers and pensioners.
The Pen Profession urges Hon. Aiyedatiwa to tow the foot steps of his former principal and predecessor who was known for his courage, fearlessness and ‘Talk & Do’ nature.
The Fourth Estate Body therefore tasked the Governor to look into various innovations that will improve the practice of journalism in Ondo State, assuring him and his new media team of NUJ support and cooperation at all time for greater development of the state.
