The deputy governor of Ondo state, Dr Olayide Adelami, has asked Nigerian Christians to intensify prayers for people in authority at all levels.
John Paul Akinduro, Spokesperson to Ondo State Deputy Governor reports that Chief Adelami made this plea on Sunday at the July edition of the combined special service of Deeper Life Bible Church, region headquarters in Owo.
Citing the Holy Bible, the deputy governor said “Right from the foundation, leadership positions have been the arrangements of God, from Abraham to Moses and Aaron. All these leaders have one thing in common, which is waiting on God to take decisions.
“Therefore, it is advised that we pray for our leaders in Nigeria. So they can take the right decisions for the overall benefit of our people”
He enjoined the congregation to continue to pray for the governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for God to lead him aright.
Adelami further said the current administration in the state is paying special attention to youth development, revealing that government will organize seminars on entrepreneurship for youths across the state.
Earlier in his sermon, the Region Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church in Owo, Pastor Ajibola Folarin, urged the public to devise a peaceful means of engaging government if and when there are issues to be addressed.
He said true Christians should not join others to riot and destroy public property but rather seek audience with people in authority to register their grievances.
Folarin thanked the deputy governor for joining them for the Sunday, describing him as a God-fearing person right from his school days at Imade college.
According to him, “You are not just holding the flag of your party, you are holding the flag of Christianity and we pray for you and the Governor for God’s guidance”
