Journalists have been challenged to always create time for regular body exercise irrespective of the busy schedule.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ondo state Council, Mr James Sowole gave the charge during a Trek for life exercise organised by the Union in commemoration of its ongoing Special press week celebration in Akure.
The NUJ chairman while commending the impressive turn out of members said the exercise hence would be a quarterly affair to enable journalists to keep fit.
Mr Sowole called on all NUJ members to unite for the overall growth of the profession.
Speaking with radio Nigeria on the impact of keeping fit, some of the journalists who participated in the exercise, Peter Dada and Tosin Oluwalowo said the trek had helped them to feel refreshed and fit after the walk.
On her part a female journalist Mrs Patient Ibeh challenged women journalist not to hide under the disguise of motherhood and engage in regular body exercise.
The nuj press week trek for life took off from the press center at alagbaka to Oja Oba,Adegbola along the popular Oba Adesida road down to Isinkan/Arakale/Nepa/High Court and terminated at the nuj press centre.
Men of the federal road safety corps FRSC were on ground to ensure safety of participants.
In continuation of the press week celebration, there will be indoor games later this evening at the press centre while dinner & Award Nite hold on Friday (Radio Nigeria Positive 102.5 FM, Akure).
