Jakana: We’re Strengthening Security, Gov Zulum Assures Residents

…Says Soldiers are committed

Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was in Jakana yesterday Thursday 1 August, 2019, a town in Konduga local government, where he assured residents that measures were taken to improve security.

Located along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, Jakana had come under Boko haram attack two days ago, resulting in the fleeing of some residents.

While sympathysing with the residents, the Governor disclosed that the government is doing everything possible to strengthed the military and enjoined them to take it as an act of God and be patient and stay in the town and be resilient, and called for residents to cooperate in identifying any known member of the insurgents who attempts to live within communities.

The governor also commended the soldiers for their hard work and commitment.

Prof Zulum also commended the effort of the Federal government and the security agencies over the restoration of law and order in the state, and appealed to the people to appreciate the effort of the Federal government and the military.

“If you compare 2015 to the present, you’ll know that there is improvement. The Federal government has done a lot and we’re still appealing for more military to be deployed to the state, especially Jakana ” said the Governor.

The governor was received at the Town by the Member representing Konduga at the Borno state house of assembly Hon Ali Bulama Yajiwa.
