Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday night staged a protest against alleged move to doctor the list of delegates for the party’s July 22 primary election.

The aggrieved PDP members alleged that the Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi tried to bribe members of the Ad hoc congress committee computing names of delegates across the 203 wards of Ondo state and replace them with his own.

The protesters also alleged that some of Ajayi’s campaign members, Dr. Kola Ademujimi and the House of Assembly member representing Idanre Hon. Festus Akingbaso to have been at a hotel in Akure, the state capital with members of the committee while other aspirants were locked out.

The PDP publicity secretary, Zadok Akintoye confirmed the protest but said he could not authenticate the allegations against Agboola.

Also, Allen Sowore, Media Adviser to the Deputy Governor in a statement made available to The Precision NG said the Agboola never visited the venue of the Congress.

“Not even when all the aspirants were invited on 9th July, 2020.

“We therefore urge the general public and committed members of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) to disregard in entirety these panicking measures employed by the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN and his allies in the PDP to pull down the Deputy Governor at all cost”, Sowore said.
