Ahead of the November 26 Governorship election in Ondo State, no fewer than 840 delegates are to vote at the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election to pick the party’s standard bearer in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.
According to a press release by PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Banji Okunomo, the party is to conduct the primary at the State Congress scheduled for today Monday, 22nd August, 2016 at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure.
Eight hundred and forty delegates are expected at the congress which include three adhoc delegates per ward elected on the 18th of August in the 203 wards of Ondo State totaling 609 in addition to the delegates that are picked by virtue of the positions they occupy presently or in the Past in compliance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution.
The event which will start at exactly 8.00 in the morning with accreditation of all delegates will attract local and international observers, the Press, all Security Apparatuses of the State and will be monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
Mr Okunomo assured the people of the state that the Primary will be free and fair and devoid of crisis .
