The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has quizzed the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, and the institution’s Bursar, Emmanuel Ademola, over their alleged involvement in a case involving abuse of office and misappropriation of funds.
Reports say Prof. Daramola allegedly received furniture allowance annually as opposed to once every four years, as approved by law.
He was additionally accused of paying himself housing allowance while living in the Vice Chancellor Quarters at FUTA.
The Vice Chancellor was further alleged to have misappropriated funds from University subheads to finance unrelated projects without receiving prior approval to do so.
