The Management and Players of Sunshine Stars Football Club Of Akure have dedicated the victory recorded over Rivers United of Port Harcourt in a week 10 match of the NPFL to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
A statement signed by the club’s media manager, Wahab Bankole said the team was full of appreciation and gratitude to the new leadership in the state, while attributing the hard earned win over Rivers United to the positive spirit and disposition of the soccer loving Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
“The Management and Players of Sunshine Stars led by Mr Folayemi Joshua wish to heartily dedicate the win over Rivers United to our amiable, God fearing and soccer loving Governor, His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu”, the statement said.
“It is our beliefs that his coming at this time to take charge of the Sunshine State was an act of God as the new dawn begins in Ondo State”.
“We also salute and thank all soccer loving people of the state especially the fans and supporters who came from far and near to witness the important victory”.
Meanwhile, the Management of Sunshine Stars has drafted Mr Henry Abiodun to play technical advisory role in the team.
According to the team’s Sporting Director, Aderemi Adetula, the need to give the team more technical balance informed the decision to draft Coach Abiodun to the technical crew on advisory role.
Sunshine Stars who defeated Rivers United by 1-0 in Akure will on Wednesday March, 1 take on El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.
