Facts have emerged on why the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo could no longer sign the 2017 budget on Thursday as earlier reported.

The Precision had reported that the budget was due to be signed on
Thursday and that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara had
been invited to witness the exercise. But the presidency made a last-minute cancellation of the exercise.
Recall that few
days ago, there was a controversy over whether Osinbajo would sign the
budget or not. But his media aide, Laolu Akande said he would do so when he
is satisfied with it.

In a tweet on Thursday, Mr Akande said, ” Just an update on the 2017 budget: Consultations still going on between
Presidency and National Assembly to resolve some identified issues.”

The national assembly passed the budget on May 11, and it was transmitted to the presidency on May 18
