It was a day to celebrate excellence as students and graduands of Minaret Group of Schools basked in the euphoria of the day with parents and well wishers to commemorate this year’s speech day and end of session activities.

 

Declaring the occasion open was the chairman of the event, Alhaji Ahmed Ipinloju who charged parents to take good care of their wards as they proceed on a long vacation, while urging the students to use the holiday to assist their parents.

“if your mother is a trader, assist her in the trading and if your father is a farmer, assist him in the farm works,” Ipinloju urged the students.
In her valedictory speech, the outgoing head girl of the school, Aminah Olojo thanked the proprietor, Alhaji Yunus Junaid and his wives as well as their teachers for giving them (graduands) the best knowledge.

“Our indebtedness, sense of affection, appraisal, commendation, salutation, approbation and responsiveness goes to our ‘builder’ our ‘mentor’, our ‘teachers’. We duly appreciate you all,” Olojo said.

Also speaking, the supervisor of the school, Ustadh Hafiz Buhari informed the gathering that the school is graduating her first set of SS3 students and expressed hope that they will contribute their quota to the society at large.
“We are cinched, clear-cut and indubitable that they will change the mien of the morally decayed society…,” Buhari disclosed.
The proprietor, Alhaji Yunus Junaid appreciated the parents for their continuous support, while urging them to always respect the educational system laid down by the school.
Alhaji Junaid urged the parents to reciprocate the school’s impact on their wards by paying up their tuition fees as and when due.

“The three foremost universities in the world – Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt were established by muslims. It is not good enough that today we muslims are lagging behind as if we do not have a better history.
“We need to change the narrative by supporting Islamic education with our money in order to get rid of devilish ideologies springing up among the muslims,” Junaid said.
He also urged parents to always give advice to the school whenever the need arises.
The father of the day, Alhaji Abiola Akinyemi corroborated the proprietor’s line of thoughts by urging parents to pay their wards tuition fees and leave out material things as sacrifice for their children’s future by giving them adequate education.

“The school can only play few role in the building of a child. We urged parents to consolidate on this by reciprocating through financial and moral support,” Akinyemi said.
From hadith presentation to drama to debate to choreography and nursery rhymes as well as cultural display, the students educate, inform and entertain guests on the occasion with the knowledge they have acquired from the school over the years.
