Ondo State Government says it has approved the procurement of standard modern digital equipment, extensive facility rehabilitation, and the general overhaul of the state owned television station, Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC).
A statement by the Head of Service, Toyin Akinkuotu and obtained by THE PRECISION, stated that as part of the on-going repositioning of the station for better service delivery, government has directed a temporary closure of the station with immediate effect.
Mr Akinkuotu noted that the exercise is to strengthen the capacity to compete effectively with its pairs nationally, while also getting the station ready for global digital switchover compliance.
“While the reform process and physical rehabilitation are on-going, all staff of the Corporation are requested to report at the Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium, Ministry of Women Affairs, Igbatoro road, Akure on Monday, 24th July, 2017 at 10.00am for further briefing,” Akinkuotu said.
