2018 World Cup Qualifier: Oboabona Urges Adequate Support For Eagles | The Precision

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria trade tackles with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun on Friday
in the 1st leg of Russia 2018  World Cup qualifier in Uyo,  Super
Eagles defence strong man,  Godfrey Oboabona has called on soccer loving
Nigerians to give maximum support to the Nigerian team. 
Speaking
from his base in Saudi Arabia, the 2013 African Cup of Nations winner
stressed the importance of support by fans and supporters as well as the
spectators. 
The Al-Ahli FC of Saudi Arabia defence marshal said with adequate support from
the fans, the Eagles will be highly motivated to record the needed
victory over the Lions from Cameroun. 
“It
is very important for the players to feel the support of Nigerians at
the stadium as this will go a long way in making the players to feel at
home and give their best”.
“It
is a very important match and the players are aware of the task ahead
but the fans and spectators must come to the stadium in their thousands
to be the 12th player on the pitch”.
Oboabona
who played all the matches enroute Nigeria success to the 2013 Nations
Cup in South Africa also charged Nigerians to pray for the victory of
the team. 
According to him, it is very important to pray for good luck as it plays a major role in the game of football.
“We must also remember to pray for the team to get the needed luck on match day as luck plays a key role in the game”.
The former Sunshine Stars Captain however expressed optimistic that the Eagles will qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
