As part of his healthcare and social service programme, Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is giving free Eye Glasses and Sun Protection Creams to Albinos in the State.
The Secretary, Agency for the Welfare of Persons With Disabilities, Mrs Olutope Fashuyi who made this known said this group of persons have been neglected for too long thus deserve to be given a sense of belonging.
A statement from the Press Officer, Ondo State Ministry of Health, Abooluwa Famakinwa and made available to THE PRECISION, noted that the kind gesture of the governor is to ameliorate the pains of these special people and prevent them from having Skin Cancer, Sun burns and Freckles usually caused by the scourging sun.
Mrs Fashuyi who represented the governor at the event said the government is making the move due to the discovery that the Sun is the cause of their Skin cancer and freckles rather than the believe that salt is the bane of their problems.
She appealed to Albinos in the State to take advantage of this opportunity availed them by the State Government which is the first of its kind since the creation of the State.
She urged Parents and Guardians of Albinos to bring them immediately for eye test at the Agenc”s office situated at the Ondo State Development and Property Corporation (former Housing Corporation) opposite Federal School of Agriculture Akure, adding that the eye glasses and sun protection creams will be distributed when the eye test is completed.
